NYC: Financial District – New York Stock Exchange after 9-11

This marble fronted building has been the home of America’s principal securities market since 1903. The New York Stock Exchange, dates back to 1792, when stock dealers met under a buttonwood tree on Wall Street, had been housed at a numer of sites before it moved into a building by John Kellum at 12 Broad Street in 1865. The building was enlarged in 1880-81 by James Renwick, Jr., and eventually replaced by the current structure, whose moumental Corinthian columns support a pediment containing an allegorical sculpture ensemble entitled Integrity Protecting the Works of Man, designed by John Quincy Adams Ward and executed by Paul Wayland Bartlett.
The New York Stock Exchange was designated a landmark by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission in 1985.

Mein Held! Er starb 1986 in Tübingen an Liebeskummer.

A62-Stock . 5227 at Farringdon with an Uxbridge train , 19th-October-2009.
In my opinion the A-Stock are the finest trains on the London Underground System .
I first rode on one of these in 1961, as a lad ( in short trousers ) from the West-bound Bay Platform at Liverpool Street Station to Wembley Park on a Misty Monday Morning , during the Autumn School Half Term . They were just being / had been delivered and I wanted a ride on one ! I was taken aback ,by the sheer size of these , there interiors etc .and the speed they travelled at .
Bearing in mind I had grown up on my local line ( The Central Line ) with Pre-1927 Stock as it was designated .
I wouldn’t go as far as saying ” I fell in love with the A Stock ,on that Monday morning , but it was close ! I can still remember the ride now ! 48 years on .
